Show up.
Rank up.
AddPlate is a strength log and a food tracker in one app. Every workout, every logged day of food and every weigh-in earns XP, from Gym Rat to Inferno Dragon. The numbers underneath stay honest: each set is checked against last time, and each food estimate shows its range.
Four quests a day, each worth XP.
Ranks
Fifteen ranks. A year or so of steady work to the top.
XP comes from showing up: a workout, a logged day of food, a weigh-in. It doesn't come from how much you lift, so a beginner and a powerlifter climb at the same pace. A missed day never takes XP away.

First rank-up, Gym Rat II, in your first week.
Train
- +120
- Workout. Six or more working sets. Up to five a week: no reward for overtraining.
- +120
- Plan week. Every session your plan asked for that week, done.
- +20
- Record. A lift beats your own best. Up to three a session.
Eat
- +30
- Food day. Two or more meals logged.
- +10
- Day closed. You mark the day complete.
- +20
- Full week. Seven days of seven.
Weigh in
- +15
- Weigh-in. Once a day. A smart scale's reading counts too.
- +15
- Steady week. Five weigh-ins.
Logged a day late? It still counts, up to two days back. Records aren't in the estimate on the left, so most people climb faster in the first months.
Training
Your notebook knew what you lifted. It never said add 2.5 kg.
AddPlate checks every set against last time, tells you what to try today, and says why.
Each suggestion comes with its reason.
Every set
Every set, checked against last time.
Tick a set and it's saved on the spot, next to what you did last session. Today's workout shows up as a boss: the numbers to beat are last time's. A slower day gets no red and no guilt, because one bad session is information.
Load suggestions with the reason
+2.5 kg when you hit the top of your rep range. Same weight when you didn't. The reason is written next to the number.
A rest alarm that rings with the screen off
Scheduled with Android itself, so it fires on time with the phone locked in your pocket, even if the app updates mid-rest.
Records, found for you
Beat your own best and it's flagged as a record, with +20 XP. Calendar and per-exercise charts go back to your first workout, on the free plan.
A week that allows rest days
Your plan's rest days are part of the week, not gaps in it. A missed day never turns anything red.
760+ exercises with demos
A video or animation shows how each one is done. Filter by muscle group and equipment, or add your own.
Programs AI plans: Premium
Start from a template, build your own, or let AI build one around your days, equipment and injuries.
Food and body weight
Photo, label, words or barcode. Every estimate shows its work.
A photo can't see the oil, and a sentence doesn't say how big the eggs were. So AddPlate answers with a range and lists what it assumed. Change an assumption and the total moves with it.
Photo Premium
Read as parts, each with its own confidence.
Describe Premium
Type it or say it: "two eggs and three slices of bacon".
Label Free
Point at a nutrition label. Read on your phone, nothing uploaded.
Barcode Free
The scanner is free, unlike most trackers.
Search Free
12,800+ foods from USDA and the Canadian Nutrient File, offline.
Water Free
One tap per glass, against a target worked out from your weight.
An adaptive target Premium
Once there are enough weigh-ins and logged days, AddPlate estimates what you actually burn. Every change to your target comes with its reason.
Trend over daily noise
Water and salt move the scale every day. The smoothed line shows where you're actually heading.
A starting target on day one
A formula estimate from your height, weight, age and goal, until there's enough of your own data to replace it.
Sources you can check
Every food database and exercise source is named in the app, with its license.
Corrections are free, forever. Fixing a portion, changing an assumption or typing the exact grams never needs a subscription. You shouldn't have to pay for our mistakes.
Type it or say it.
Health Connect
Your scale and your watch, already in.
On Android, AddPlate connects to Health Connect, the shared health store that Google Fit, Samsung Health and Honor Health use. Step on a smart scale and the reading arrives as a weigh-in, XP included. Your workouts and meals go out to the apps you allow.
Your devices and apps
Health Connect
On your phone, not in a cloud
AddPlate
Seven permissions, the last 30 days, and only while the app is open. No background access.
What comes in from Health Connect stays on your phone. How we use it
A watch shouldn't be worth more XP than a phone in your pocket, so steps earn nothing.
Compare
Free where others charge.
Other apps put a limit on the free plan and charge to lift it. AddPlate has no limits on logging. You pay only for AI: photo scans, described meals and AI plans, because those cost us money every time they run.

Questions
Before you sign up.
When can I use it?
AddPlate is in development and already in daily use by the people building it. Leave your email and we'll write once, when early access opens.
How do ranks work?
You earn XP for training, logging food and weighing in. There are fifteen ranks, from Gym Rat I to Inferno Dragon. Four or five sessions a week with food logged and regular weigh-ins reach the top in a little over a year. Lifting heavier doesn't earn more XP, beating your own best does, so everyone climbs at the same pace.
Does it work with Google Fit, Samsung Health or my smart scale?
On Android, yes, through Health Connect. Weight and body fat from a scale arrive as weigh-ins, and steps show on the Food tab. AddPlate shares your workouts, food, weigh-ins and water with the apps you allow. Some apps, Honor Health among them, only send to Health Connect and don't read from it, so their data reaches AddPlate but your workouts won't show inside them.
Is there an iPhone version?
Yes, it's in progress. Android comes first, because making the rest alarm reliable on phones with aggressive battery saving took the most work there. The iPhone app follows.
How accurate is the photo estimate?
We don't publish an accuracy figure yet. We're collecting a set of weighed meals with photos to measure it properly. Until then, the width of each range is based on published research on photo-based estimation, which is why we show a range at all.
Where does my data live?
Workouts, meals and weigh-ins are stored on your phone and work without an account. A food photo or description leaves your phone only when you send it to be read. Data from Health Connect stays on your phone. You can export everything as a file at any time. Privacy policy
Why is the free plan so large?
Logging a set or a meal costs us nothing to run, so charging for it would only be a toll. Photo scans, described meals and AI plans call paid models on every use. That's the whole reason Premium exists.
